The Benson family have been stock farmers in the lovely and fertile Karkloof Valley for 40 years. The equestrian connection has been in the breeding, training and competing of racehorse’s, polo ponies and warmbloods. Constant comments on the excellent condition and quality of their home-fed horses led in 1993 to the production of the Spurwing range of Horse Feeds which has been used with success over the years.

'Tyron' is a 29 year old Fresian gelding. Owned by Stoffel and Mareen Theron of Lidgetton, KZN he is maintained in this wonderful condition on 2kg DAILY of Spurwing Maintenance Meal 11%. A great testimony to the quality of our rations. We at Spurwing are very proud of 'Tyron' who is a fantastic ambassador for our rations.

Kobus is proudly supported by Spurwing Horse Feeds and he currently holds the record for the most kilometres ridden in competition for a single endurance season. His record is 1894km! A major achievement that I am sure was assisted by the excellent nutrition found in every Spurwing bag.

A warmblood X Apaloosa filly owned and shown in hand by Brett and Sally Miller at the Horse of the Year in Johannesburg in Februay 2011. Fully imported she was prepared on our Spurwing rations and what a picture she is.
